Shadow Divers

Our current nonfiction selection is Shadow Divers: The True Adventure of Two Americans Who Risked Everything to Solve One of the Last Mysteries of World War II by Robert Kurson.  The book is about two scuba divers that led a team to discover the identity of a WWII German U-Boat that was off the coast of New Jersey in 1991.  No one knew that the German submarine was there until these two men found it.

John Chatterton and Richie Kohler went on a determined quest to discover the identity of the craft and the men who perished on it.  The U-Boat, which they dubbed the "U-Who" because if its mysterious identity, rests in  230 feet of water.  Few can survive at this depth, but these divers persevered despite personal losses and the deaths of several friends.
