Literature of the Moment in English III

Welcome to English III! Since this is a study of American literature, we're going to start where our forefathers started -- Colonial literature.
Eng 3 Calendar

We will read memoirs by Mary Rowlandson and Olaudah Equiano in addition to reading a famous speech by Jonathan Edwards. After reading these selections, we'll watch the movie version of The Crucible. Here's some more information on the Puritans:

In addition to reading these archaic works, we're going to start the Graduation Project paper. I can promise you that it's not as horrific as you've heard! More info:

You'll write the research paper this year and complete the corresponding project in English IV next year.

Power Lunch and the Writing Lab

The administration provides time for students to receive help and remediation during lunchtime in a program we call Power Lunch. There is more than enough time for every student to get assistance in each course during the week, so no one needs to stay after school to ask for help. Students may receive tutorial assistance and/or remediation during this time. It is also a great time to make-up missed work or do test corrections. Please ask for help. Our team goal is for every student to maximize his or her potential.

The Writing Lab will be in my room (225) this year. I will be in there on Monday to help all Cleveland students with essays and projects. Mrs. Livaudais, the other Eng 3 teacher, will be in my room on Thursdays. We will gladly help you with any writing assignment, especially the Graduation Project paper.

Here's the official schedule:
Monday -
Tuesday -
Wednesday -
Thursday -

Do not skip someone else's Power Lunch to come and see me!
